Hi,
If a student happens to have a house near the campus, can they stay there overnight occasionally or is it mandatory that they have to spend each night at the hostel?
Thanks.

Yes, they can, but it is suggested not to make it a habit as many a times there will be batch-meets, House-meets, club-meets, etc which generally happen around 9-10pm. Moreover, u can sometimes be called for Assignment Evaluation during these hours.

You’ll be provided with a cot, a table and a cupboard.

Hi,
Will the boys be given single or shared accommodation in hostels during their first year?

If it is shared, will they be given single accommodation later, say in 3rd year?

Regards,
- RSA

On a related note to the first question: Can students (whose parents reside within the city) can go home for a few hours during Sunday? How do Sundays in hostel life look like, normally? e.g. more of peer-to-peer or teacher-student interactions?

There is double occupancy for every room allotted to first and second years, that is you will have to share a room with one other roommate. From third year onwards, the accommodation is single.

Students can visit their parents any time of the week they wish to as long as they take care of their attendance requirements, assignments and other activities. There are many local students who go home on weekends.

There are no classes held on Sundays only. As students are relatively free on Sundays, some extra curricular activities like club meets etc happen.

Does the hostel room have wifi connectivity or LAN connectivity??
Are we required to bring our wifi routers??

@Nachiket, UG-1 don’t have internet access at rooms. They can use Workspace(only from 6am to midnight) for that purpose.
From 2nd year onwards all students have 1 LAN port per student in their rooms. They can bring their own wifi routers if they want.

please answer that whether UG1 students have to bring bed mattress or we have to bring only bed sheets . What is the meaning of bed roll ? plz answer fast…

@AKSHAY VYAS, Bed roll means Bed mattress. Students have to bring their own mattress and bed sheet. But no need to carry one from your home as the mattress will also be available for sale in the cellar shop in NBH.
